Chris Parks on the 3D in King Arthur
Chris Parks, Guy Ritchie
Chris and Guy Ritchie on using depth for character and for spectacle.
Warner Bros · 2017
Guy Ritchie's Arthur, with stereo used to bring the audience closer to the action and to the story.
What it was
Robbed of his birthright, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city; once he pulls the sword from the stone he has to face his true legacy, whether he likes it or not. Chris Parks and the Vision3 team worked with Guy Ritchie's creative team on how stereo could serve this modern take on the legend, from the film's opening sequence to the personal moments of Arthur's journey of redemption.
Technical approach
Stereo supervision by Chris Parks with additional stereography by Angus Cameron; stereo production, depth grade and conform run out of Vision3.
